TOWSON, Md. – Five members of the boys New Hampshire Tomahawks 2018 purple squad, and one girl from the 2017 team were selected and participated in the 2016 edition of the Under Armour All-American underclassman tournament that was hosted by Towson University from June 30 to July 3.

On the boy’s side, Foster Burnley, Brian Cameron, Andrew Geppert, Zach Ludd, and Zachary Tucci all made the New England region’s Highlight Division team that was comprised of the top players in the New England area for the high school graduating classes of 2017 and 2018.

Kate Bradford was the lone girl from the Tomahawks selected as the Bishop Guertin midfielder was named to the New England Highlight Division team.

The six NCAA Division I bound Tomahawks found their way onto their respective teams following rigorous and lengthy tryouts that took place at Yale University in June to determine New England’s finest for the boys and girls.

The event is the countries’ premier lacrosse tournament each summer as 11 regions from across the country put together the best teams of underclass lacrosse players they have to offer and battle it out for the underclassman title in two respective age brackets for each gender.

On the final day of the tournament, the boy’s team defeated Long Island 8-7, to move onto the semifinals of the tournament where they fell to Washington D.C. The New Jersey group would eventually win the Highlight Division.

Bradford and the New England girls however dominated all week en route to winning the title. Throughout the week, the team had only one game decided by fewer than six goals, including a decisive 16-7 win in the championship game over Philadelphia.

The Tomahawks also had coaches represented at the tournament as co-founders Chris Cameron and Chris Hettler coached the boy’s New England Highlight Division and Command Division teams, respectively. The New England Highlight Division girls also had a Tomahawk’s coach as Kerry D’Ambroise was featured on the sidelines for the championship squad.

The tournament prefaces the annual Under Armour Senior All-American games that feature two 22-player teams selected by Inside Lacrosse as the top 44 boy’s and girl’s high school lacrosse players in the country that will be suiting up for college teams the following season.

All six Tomahawk’s players who participated have bright futures to look forward to as they have all made verbal commitments to play lacrosse at the next level. Burnley and Tucci are committed to Cornell University, Cameron gave his word to the University of North Carolina, Geppert to Lehigh University, Ludd is on his way to Ohio State University, and Bradford will become a Blue Hen at the University of Delaware.
